A company called HSC Electronic Supply has apparently got ahold of a few hundred of these modules. They won't ship them - but if you happen to be in Santa Clara or Rohnert Park, CA you might be able…Continue

Stick Vacuum cleaner - 400 watt inverter

Not to long ago I quickly discovered a small inverter doesn't have the nads to run a regular size vacuum cleaner. And the 18v battery operated vacuum works but is a pain to use for a camper floor /…Continue

This is about a Norcold fridge but could probably be for any true 12 volt appliance. The manual indicates that the circuit should not share wiring with any other devices. Ok n/p, run it's own 12awg…Continue

John J. replied to Jim's discussion Can I use the Harbor Feight charge controller with two different makes of solar panels?
"You can combine h/f 15w panels and the dm_solar 145 crystalline in parallel, I've been doing it for some time now. I use a combiner box then run a feed to the controller."

HF 45 watt solar panel kit

"Neat install. The neg battery connection seemed loose. Kind of wondering about the angle of the sun on the other side. I like how you have the pdu drawing off the load side of the 30a controller. I can see you adding more panels to this setup."

Another Solar Power Goal Achieved!

Posted on September 6, 2012 at 7:00pm 0 Comments

Refrigeration, no Ice at Camp! It took a quarter kilowatt to do it but I’m very pleased. Actually closer to 300 watts but that’s beside the point. I’m able to keep food, beer, and beverages cold & fresh now just using Solar Power my system generates. No more soggy foods. I don’t have to drain coolers or toss plastic ice bags into the trash. I use the thermoelectric chiller to transport to and from and a …

Well I may have used my last HF coupon for a kit today. Took advantage of an inside track coupon and bought one final metal frame kit. I've become friends with one of the cashiers, when the kits would go out the door she would say something like 'the guys love `em.' Well after a breif conversation about the changes she wasn't so sure anymore.

This gives me 10 15w panels in total. And the truth is where I use them amorphous makes more sence. So I should have the amps I need now. The…

Picked up another single 15w HF Panel today. I'll install it horizontaly over the other two singles.

This should give me about 4-5 amps on good days peek hours. The singles come with some extra hardware, disconnect wiring & 3 adaptor connections. Also if I consider or need to…
